Located at a height of 14,270 feet above sea level on the Indo-China border, Pangong Tso is one of the world’s highest brackish water lakes. It is popular for its stunning blue colour. Many Indian films like 3 Idiots, Jab Tak Hai Jaan and Dil Se have been shot here.
Watch the water change shades of blue, take photographs of the stunning views all around and visit the spot where the climax of ‘3 Idiots’ was shot. The lake is so vast that it seems to melt into the horizon creating a beautiful illusion of blue water meeting blue sky.
Arrive in Leh and transfer to the hotel. Since Ladakh is at a high altitude, the day is kept completely for rest and acclimatization. In the evening, if feeling comfortable, guests can take a short walk around the local market or visit nearby spots like Shanti Stupa to enjoy a peaceful sunset.
After breakfast, explore the cultural side of Ladakh by visiting Leh Palace, Hall of Fame, and the sacred Gurudwara Pathar Sahib. Later, witness the magical confluence of the Indus and Zanskar rivers at Sangam Point. Return to the hotel and relax in the evening.
Drive through one of the world’s highest motorable roads, Khardung La Pass, and head towards Nubra Valley. On arrival, check into a camp or hotel. Enjoy a unique double-humped camel ride at the sand dunes of Hunder Sand Dunes and soak in the stunning desert landscape.
After breakfast, travel towards the iconic Pangong Lake via scenic routes. Witness the changing shades of the lake surrounded by mountains—one of the most beautiful experiences in Ladakh. Spend the night in camps near the lake and enjoy the serene environment.
Wake up to a mesmerizing sunrise at Pangong Lake and drive back to Leh. En route, enjoy the scenic beauty and capture unforgettable moments. Upon arrival, relax or explore the local market for shopping and cafés.
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and transfer to the airport with beautiful memories of Ladakh’s landscapes, culture, and peaceful vibes.
